It’s not that I’m stuck, it’s more that I have sought to find all potential issues in a subset of the design – and issues I have found aplenty. When your workload is mostly solving issues the Mickey Magic is in slim supply.
As a bit of cheer I’ve decided to examine the major project by seeing how many elements Snakes can supply – and the news is not bad at all.

The full description of Luna is available here. You might need to read that first.

- ENTRANCE – visited Luna Park Melbourne, documented the entrance. Looking for a hybrid of Sydney (Happy) and Melbourne (Scary) faces. It needs to be neither.
- GOVERNMENT – still planned to be based on Brighton Pavilion. Some murals now easier to produce due to AI.
- THE PIKE – very much helped by Snakes. Can re-use River Caves, Carousel, Davy Jones Locker but will still need Noah’s Ark, Hell Gate, Ghost Train etc. All must be aged! It is a fantasy, but has to sit in the 20th century at least.
- EXPOSITION – not covered by Snakes, except that Twittering Machine is on the other side to aircraft.
- CHARON – encloses the Helter Skelter – I will first improve the one in Snakes to be the final version. It’s too clunky.
- ENDLESS HOUSE and CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS – not yet developed.
- GARDENS/MONSTER HEAD and WHITE CITY/MOLOCH – not yet developed.
Although it looks like there’s not much done THE PIKE was always the most intricate part of the design and so It’s further along than might seem.
Artificial Intelligence?

The main reason is to inflate my 2D drawings – so I can sketch or photograph an object and the software forms that into a 3D object. I then load it into my 3D modeller and rework it, usually to reduce the number of faces. For example the Monster Head – I have many photographs of the original which combine into one 3D object.
Before AI was around (yes I’ve been working on this that long) I was building the objects by hand – and weeks went into the garbage. There was a good chance the whole project would be dropped.
Certainly the objects can have a bit of a soapy blurry appearance. That means I need to decide what matters – if you go past something on a ride you don’t see it. If you walk up to it, you will see it – like any amusement park design you have to budget your precision to the engagement.
Missing In Action
When re-reading the design document for Luna I noticed that I’d forgotten a few things when sketching the diagram. That might mean the diagram isn’t faithful, but more likely that things I’d forgotten weren’t needed to tell the story. Either way it’s good test.
Back to work.
